Hey guys, I am so excited to announce a new weekly blog post I will be doing called Book of the Week! This is where I pick one book that I will read and finish that week. I want to do this so that I can making sure to read at least one book each week, rather than allowing myself to fall behind and accomplish nothing. The first book I will be reading to kick off Book of the Week, is Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas (Book 2 in the Throne of Glass Series).
Jist of the Series:
After years of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged to a meeting before the Crown Prince. A meeting at which Prince Dorian offers her on one condition: she return with him to Adarlan and must act as his champion in his fathers competition to find the new Royal Champion.
When she arrives she finds she is competing against men-thieves, assassins, and warriors from across the empire, each are sponsored by a member of the king's council. If she beats her opponents in a series of tests and duels, she'll serve the kingdom for four years. When the four years are up, she will then be granted her freedom.
Then one of the other contestants turns up dead... soon followed by another. A dark forces roams the halls and hidden passages of the castle, and the spirit of a forgotten Queen calls for Celaena's help. Can Celaena figure out who or what is killing off champions before she becomes one of its victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could not possibly have imagined.
